Thorold Garden Club Newsletter – February Meeting
Date: February 19th, 2025
Time: 7:00 PM
Location: Club Belvedere (New Location)
57 John Street Thorold, ON, L2N 1E9
Topic: Tool Sharpening with Cecilia Letourneau
Dear Garden Club Members,
We are excited to kick off the new year with an informative and hands-on workshop at our February meeting! Our presenter for the evening will be Cecilia Letourneau, who will be guiding us through the essential skills of sharpening our garden tools.
What to Bring: To get the most out of this workshop, please bring your own garden tools (shovels, pruners, shears, etc.), gloves, apron, and an old rag or towel. If your tool requires pliers or a screwdriver for disassembly, be sure to bring those as well. Cecile will walk us through the process of taking apart, cleaning, sharpening, and reassembling our tools so they are ready for the spring gardening season!
Workshop Details:
- Time: We’ll start promptly at 7:00 PM – the sooner we begin, the sooner we can enjoy snacks and draw prizes at the end of the session.
- Cost: The workshop is free for all Thorold Garden Club members.
- If you prefer not to participate in the hands-on aspect, feel free to observe and learn from the demonstration!
Additionally, if you’re interested in joining us for the weekly Pasta Night at Club Belvedere (held every Wednesday), please let me know by February 17th so I can confirm our numbers with them. The cost is $15 per person and includes pasta, meatballs, and salad.
We’re looking forward to seeing you at the meeting and learning how to get our tools in tip-top shape for the growing season ahead. Don’t forget to bring your tools and join in the fun!
